Adele’s Stunning Weight Loss Secrets FINALLY Revealed!

Adele’s triumphant comeback as the queen of popular music has re-established her as a heavyweight in the music stakes. Hand in hand with that vocal victory, we’ve seen a new, slimmer version of the British songstress that has amazed and delighted her fans. How’d she do it? The key was letting go of two habits that she’d been slavishly following for nearly a decade.

The Green Tea Switch That Helped Adele Lose Weight

 

Being British, Adele loves her tea. In fact, she was virtually addicted to the stuff. She recently told The Sun newspaper, “I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day.”Adele. Black and White.

Cutting out the tea was a difficult task for Adele, who had relied on the sugar rush for energy. However, by going cold turkey and replacing her old, unhealthy sugar laden version of the brew with a much healthier version, she was able to, not only dramatically reduce her daily sugar intake, but to actually have a lot more energy throughout the day.

Adele’s new tea of choice is Oolong tea. Oolong tea is also commonly known as Wu-Ling Tea. In addition to providing energy in abundance, Oolong tea has the ability to ramp up the metabolism by an astounding 220%. According to several studies in China, researchers have found that people who drink 2-3 cups of Oolong tea per day, will experience an 8% higher rate of results than those who drink green tea. In one study it translated to a pound per week – from doing nothing but sipping 2 cups of Oolong tea per day! Adele discovered that Oolong tea has the ability to encourage her body to use more fat for energy, resulting in accelerated fat burning and a faster metabolism.

The second major lifestyle change that catapulted Adele’s dramatic transofrmation was to give up smoking. The singer recently explained the impetus for this change . . .

If I’d carried on smoking, I’d probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that’s really bad. If I was dying from lung cancer, I would have potentially given it to myself, and that wouldn’t be something I’d be proud of.

 

Adele used to be a nicotine junkie, smoking upwards of 25 cigarettes per day. On one occasion, she was forced to cancel some shows after losing her voice in 2011 and she has no doubt that her smoking habit was a major contributor. In a 60 Minutes interview, he said . . .

It felt like something popped in my throat. Like someone putting a curtain over my throat, and I could feel it.

 

So, how did she break free from the nicotine’s stranglehold? Adele recruited the services of hypnotherapist Susan Hepburn. Over several sessions, Susan helped the singer ‘delete’ the mental associations that caused her to crave cigarettes. It worked a treat.

Adele has regular follow up sessions with Susan. She also practices mindfulness to allow her to focus her thoughts on healthy, productive things when she feels the cigarette desire coming on. Here’s an especially powerful exercise that Adele uses to ensure that she doesn’t fall off the wagon:

She’ll get comfortable and close her eyes. She will then breathe in deeply a dozen times. Her mid will then go back to the first time she had a cigarette. She will create a vivid memory of that occasion. She will then delete that memory from her mind. She then tells herself the following affirmation . . .

I can do this and I do not need smoking to enrich my life . . . it is ruining my life.

 

The Food Make-Over

 

In order to succeed at her long term goals Adele know that she had to overhaul her eating habits. To help her to do it, she recruited the services of London based gourmet food delivery service Pure Package. The Pure Package team designed meals and snacks for Adele that were based around fruits and vegetables, along with lean proteins and complex carbohydrates. Everything that Adele was to eat for the day would arrive on her doorstep at 6am, ready to be heated and enjoyed.

Here’s a sample of what a typical day’s eating looked like for Adele on her weight loss plan:

Breakfast: Tomato, Avocado & Cottage Cheese on Organic Rye BreadCottage cheese and ripe avocado served on rye bread with a roasted plum tomato.

Morning Snack: Black Grapes & Cashew NutsBy consuming the nuts at the same time as the fruit will help slow down the release of the fruit sugar and therefore give you more constant energy.

Lunch: Thai Chicken Noodle SaladShiitake Mushrooms, coconut rice noodles, mange tout and free-range chicken served with an Asian coconut dressing.

Afternoon Snack: Fruit, Nut & Seed BarOur home-made bar is packed with dried fruit, nuts and seeds.

Dinner: Spiced Kingfish with Black Bean SalsaCoriander and lime marinated kingfish served with mange tout and a black bean, tomato, chili and onion salsa.

Adele is not a great fan of working out. She recently said,

‘I’m not, like, skipping to the f****** gym. I don’t enjoy it.

 

Despite this comment, Adele did join a gym. She was well aware that burning calories through movement was a necessary complement to the reduced calorie diet that she was being supplied with by Pure Package. She signed up at KX Gym in Chelsea. Twice a week she worked with a personal trainer on a strength and conditioning routine designed to tone and shape her key problem areas; the thighs, hips and glutes.

Here’s the routine that helped Adele transform her body:

Warmup: 5 minutes in treadmill at 4 km per hour

 

Squats 3 x 15 reps – (Adele started with the weight of an Olympic bar (15kg) and built from there)

Lunges 2 x 15 reps (each leg)

Lat Pull-downs 2 x 15 reps

Glute Bridge 2 x 15 reps

Dumbbell Bench Press 2 x 15 reps

Reverse Dips 2 x 12 reps

 

Adele moved through the workout briskly, taking no more than 30 seconds rest between each set. Her personal trainer pushed her to do a little bit more each workout. This allowed the songstress to improve her strength, with the weights she was lifting going up steadily each week. It also caused her to put on some solid muscle. The muscle is what gives Adele’s body it’s shape. It also causes her body to consume more calories so as to burn fat faster.

In addition to her two gym workouts, which were typically in the early evenings on Monday and Thursday, Adele also purchased a pedometer. She made it her goal to walk a minimum of 10,000 steps per day. This has allowed her to increase her rate of calorie burn and keep it consistent over the long term.

The Transformed Body

 

Adele’s body transformation was perfectly timed to coincide with her stunning musical comeback. Her third album, 25, became the fastest selling in UK chart history with 800,000 copies being sold in the first week. And her lithe, athletic, slim new body has her positioned to remain on top for many years to come.
