Fruit Leather
Remember fruit roll-ups as a kid? Well, these are similar EXCEPT, check out the differences in ingredient (both are for strawberry flavor):
Fruit Roll-ups (by General Mills)
Pears from concentrate, corn syrup, dried corn syrup, sugar, partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, citric acid, sodium citrate, acetylated mono and diglycerides, pectin, malic acid, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), color (red 40, yellow 5, blue 1), natural flavor.
Fruit Leather (by Stretch Island)
Apples, pears, strawberries, natural flavors, lemon juice.
I can actually pronounce all the ingredients in the fruit leather! Although I never liked fruit roll-ups as a kid, I have a friend who is constantly eating fruit leathers and people always ask her, "what the heck is that?"...they look a bit like taffy.
So I decided to try ‘em. I really wasn't ecstatic about them, but I’m biased because I never liked fruit roll-ups in the first place (or anything that has a jelly/chewy texture -- e.g., jelly beans, twizzlers, etc.). But the taste was good overall, so if you’re in the mood for something sweet, fruity, and chewy, reach for one of these. It has a diet exchange of 1 fruit. Of course, I’d personally rather have the actual fruit!
I give fruit leather 3 out of 5 lip smacks.

Real fruit leathers are awesome. But you do have to be picky about the flavors. I don't like the strawberry so well, I think the apricot, grape and cherry are better, as the flavor is stronger.
Heh now I'm remembering that leathery smooth feeling over my lips as I'm eating fruit rollups. Nice alternative tho.

I swear you had me @ "corn syrup, dried corn syrup"
WTF?!?!
Fruit leather, I luv that name it so kinky, sounds almost like dried fruit. Like I can picture a dried apricot and taking a rolling pin to it to flatten it out and voila fruit leather
I've got to see if they have this in my area, I'm guess Whole Foods might. I also checked out their site and found a sampler pack...yummy!
