Kate sues mags

Filed in: Celebrity

Hollywood honey Kate Hudson is taking legal action against several publications including The National Enquirer that printed pictures that make her look anorexic. [source]

Patiently waiting for Mary-Kate/Ashley/Jessica/Nicole/Paris/Calista/Lara-Flynn to follow suit.

I'm getting so jaded on these chics. My first thought was that it was Kate Hudson's way of drawing attention to her skinny little ass. For the rest of those girls, I think their ED is probably a badge of honor in the circles they run in.

I get so annoyed that these women who don't have real women's bodies are all over everything. No wonder it's so easy to feel bad about yourself! How about showing women who are fit and healthy! That would at least give us all something reasonable to strive for.

I think it's so sad that these are grown women who are willing to do that to their body. I agree with Marla, they probably wear their ED like a badge and are setting a wave of ED in society. I remember a while ago when i was surfing for health/weight blogs I found all these pro ana sites and I couldn't believe my eyes - actually really recently ago I found myself on pro gaining sites too where women and men were trying to be morbidly overweight (eg. 5'5 women 350 short term goal was 450) and I was just as shocked. I think it will be a looong time before we actually shift our perspective to being healthy. Makes me thankful for finding people who are striving for that too.

I think it's pathetic the way the gossip magazines and tabloids will make up practically anything to make sales, but I also think these girls have to know when to pick their battles. For example, if Kate Hudson really doesn't have an ED, then what the hell should she care if some rag prints a bunch of b.s. about her? I'm sure there's more to it than we know, but I find it strange that she would go to such lengths. My guess that if any of those celebrity women were to follow suit, it would be Nicole Richie - but I doubt she'd do it. I think her current appearance garners more press for her than any tabloid-related lawsuit could.
