Lose, Gain, Maintain?

Filed in: What say you?
November 16, 2005 by Renee @ 08:43 AM

I thought of this topic when I looked at the calendar and realized there are 6 weeks left in the year.

Do you plan to keep actively losing? Will you be happy to maintain or have a modest gain? Or is everything off the table till the first of the year and you'll start fresh in 2006?

As the holidays approach, what are your weight related plans?

Yesterday, I was hanging out @ the ever so informative fatfighterblogs.com [/end shameless plug] and read elle’s comment about training for not one but two long distance races in 2006. For the rest of the day I mulled over what... [Read More]

I plan to kick up my training plan and prepare for two long distance races early in 2006. If I lose weight in the process that will help me with my endurance goals. I am going to continue to count calories and run. I hope to be down at least 20-30 pounds by April.

Maintain, maintain, maintain. I've realized over the years that it's really tough to lose weight over the holidays, but it's not really *that* hard to maintain. Plus, I always get a burst of motivation around New Years... I don't know why, it's probably silly to take resolutions so seriously, but I do!

I plan to do my best to continue losing (or at least trying to), though I plan to enjoy myself at holiday meals. The goal will be to not overeat at holiday meals and to work on not letting each holiday spill into the weeks around it very much (only a day or two max) in order to minimize any potential damage. With a wedding coming up in April I can't let the holidays make my weight spike!

Lose! I've been stalled here forever, and have just joined WW to help me take off the last bit of weight. I don't go to a lot of parties, so I think modest, steady losses are doable for me.

I'm going to try to keep losing. Most of my family is 'dieting' or made a 'lifestyle change' (pick your terminology), so I think I can make it happen. There aren't going to be many excesses around this holiday season to tempt this Little Red Riding Hood off the path.

I'm going to try hard to lose weight, but I'm not to fussed just as long as I keep up eating healthy and exercising and not just wanting to laze around I'll be happy.

WOW I can't bevelie 2006 is ALMOST HERE.

Before christmas, I have my wedding, so the weight loss bananza will be in full swing before then. But after that, I plan on either losing or maintaining (at the very least!) Christmas day is pretty much a free for all, but I plan on keeping it to christmas and christmas only. Thank fully I dont have many parties to go to this year. I'm like Dee - as long as I dont turn into a slob, I'll be happy.
