It is really shocking and very difficult to believe that some soft drinks are having chemicals that are going to effect our health to great extend.
I'm really horrified at that soda story. How can it possibly be legal to use any sort of carcinogen in any food products? Shouldn't the 'allowed amount' by default be 'none at all'!?
*sigh* I feel the same way Kat, the more I learn about the food industry the more I realize things are allowed based on how much money greases palms...consumer be damned.
While I think it's important to be aware of this issue, I'm actually not really concerned about it myself. While I don’t drink any of the sodas they're talking about, I think that drinking this stuff in moderation is okay. Plus I read somehwere that these tests are comparing the level of benzene found in soda to that found in drinking water - which isn't really comparable. You'd have to drink A LOT of soda for it to have an effect, I think.

The drinks are the healthyer "sodas" and flavored waters that is scary but I hope they'll clean it up.
