General Disclaimer
I think we are so used to the lb/kg system that any other tool for health brings a host of debate. True indeed there are instances where BMI or Body Fat for a Olympian would put them in the Obese/Unhealthy range, but a bit of logic should make it obvious it's an anomaly, not the rule. However, take these forms of measurements with a grain of salt. It's not the be all to end all, how you feel and your lifestyle matters most. As long as all #'s trickle downward over time as you get healthier, you should be happy vs. aiming for a set range if it'll make you miserable you aren't in it.
You can stick with solely tracking lbs/kgs, but every once in a while, take note of how your other stats are doing. Days when the scale stays the same, you may be pleasantly surprised to find your BMI inches went down, or your Body Fat drop a percentage point, or two ![]()

I think Mariah Carey lays that claim to fame too...being big and musclar and not big and fat. When I see pix of her in a bikini, she's a big girl. Not @ all flabby like moi
, a bit soft shure, but you can see most of her "size" is solid, yet she's always called fat...*sigh*

So if that's the case, if your weight doesnt' change, neither would your BMI. But your body *inches* might change, even if you don't change in pounds. Or your % fat. But not your BMI. ![]()

I do stand corrected for saying BMI would go down, I meant the other B I haven't gotten to yet ![]()
Yep, I definitely agree...I am a measurement taker...at least once a month. There are some months that I lose weight, but not much in inches....and other months where I lose inches and not really much weight.
I would love to be one of those people that just throws their scales away. Just not there yet....

Body fat is all relative for sure. You could be bigger but be all muscle. Or you could be skinny and all flab.
I saw on tv or read somewhere once about this woman in California who was an aerobics instructor. She was overweight and she was put through the ringer by the powers that be because they perceived her as unhealthy and it wasn't a good image to be larger and being in the fitness industry. (My note: What a bunch of crock. As an overweight person I prefer to be with other larger people and I most certainly don't mind a larger person instructing. It puts me at ease and shows me that you don't have to be skinny to be health.) She won whatever case there was to win because of the descrimination. She is a very fit and healthy person. In fact, her BMI was in an acceptable range but she was still a large person. She was mostly muscle.
