How are my busy little cb's (calorie burners
) today? As with most challenges, the first week or two I figure out the kinks before there is a set routine. I was going to post a daily check-in, but with less than 10 peeps playing along, I'll do it weekly and leave the post pinned at the top.
Remember your gameplan from last week, you have your goals, a personal mission statement and you picked your poison. All that's left to do is: burn calorie burn. Check in later tonight or tomorrow with your daily deficit, in 7 days we'll total it all up.
16 weeks left in 06'...do I hear 16-32lbs gone by New Years Day?

I'd like to do but I haven't had a chance to read anything. Vacation, then home, then away on a workshop, then home, now school has started. It's been a whirlwind and I'm trying to get back into routine hehe

This week will be a bit off for me, in the midst of moving and I'm semi-gymless...sooo I'll concentrate on shaving 250 off my daily cals this week.
Arindana, the challenge is ongoing, so jump in where and when you can. To sum up the posts I linked too, basically 3500 calories nets a 1lb loss..pick a method to consistently burn 250-500 calories per day, either burn it off via exercise, or cut back on your eats. That's pretty much it.

Hey y'all....
yesterday went well for me as well...I ate well...just a smidge over 1200 calories and the insane(in a good way) thing...is that it felt like I ate a ton of food.
I also worked out...I planned to just do 30 minutes on the elliptical since my legs were a tad sore from the 5K on Sunday...but once I got on and started moving...I ended up running 45 minutes.
I do need to make sure I bump my calories on days in which I am working out...so my metabolism doesn't drop.
Hope everyone else is keeping their sweat on...
Yesterday was harsh. My cat was struck and killed by a car, and the bank lost my paycheck that I deposited on Friday...TG I had my deposit slip with me when I went to go see them...
Anyway, I did not get to the gym yesterday, but I did eat on plan according to the Weight Watchers Core plan, so at least I got the 250 calories from that.
Today I have a weight lifting appointment with my mom. It's all about the chest, shoulders and triceps today!

yesterday and today both good food wise and exercise wise and water has been good. I am back to work. so am walkig extra I take public transit and alot of my stop a 5-10 minute on the way home I can take a longer route once I am off the bus so I do that. I also work in a mall and it has 3 floors. I work on the third floor but have to enter on the first floor so I walk the long way to the stairs up to the third floor and they are one solid flight from the first to the third and they move bt I walk them instead of standing so its harder. So so far I am going good oh and I am keeping my cals between 1200 and 1300 for the most part where a week ago I was eating over 1000-2000 calories perdayso big change congrads to everyone doing well so far keep it up ladies. oh question renee when are we supposed to check in for weigh in????? I weigh in every monday
Hi everyone...I did well yesterday...not perfect since it is that lovely time of the month for me, but well.
I worked out for 35 minutes on the elliptical..and got my burning calories in.
As for food...I didn't get the job done. I ate way too many nuts...and cheese, etc. So, I knew I was going over my plan for the day.
My solution??? I jumped back on the elliptical after dinner for another 20 minutes. I figure...if I am not getting it done with the eating today...I will burn those nuts off with my love affair with my elliptical.

I am so sorry about your cat...I love my cat more than I love most people on the planet. So sorry for your loss.
How did your weight lifting go? I have to always work to get mine in...since I jump to do cardio, but always tend to lag when it comes to weight lifting.

Congrats on getting your walk on during your work day. And your calories sound great. Are you following any particular plan? WW? South Beach? Nutrisystem? Etc?
My weigh in day is usually on Monday. I am only officially weighing myself once a month...it helps me more than it hurts. But I will unofficially weigh myself in each Monday morning for the challenge.

My weight lifting went fine. The calorie burner thing that Renee has set up for us says that I burned about 302 calories doing it...I lifted for about 40 minutes, but I figure that there was a minute between each set and all that, so I used 30 minutes to calculate it. I did well on WEight Watchers, too. I guess my total for the week so far is a 750 deficit, if I'm doing my math right.
As for getting in to the weight lifting. I like how strong it makes me feel when I can increase the weight of the dumb bells. I have the luxory of being married to a liscensed personal trainer who helped me put an efficient and well rounded program together.
Next week, I'm adding in cardio. Gotta start slow...that's my motto.
TC's SMART Goals:
S = Specific
By the end of 2006, I will lose 28lbs and get to my goal,
M = Measurable
To lose 28lbs, each week I will attempt to lose 1.87lbs.
A = Attainable
Since I have lost 61 lbs since January, I believe that losing another 28 by the end of the year is completely attainable.
R = Realistic
My goals are realistic for me because I have been losing approximately 2 lbs a week so I hope to continue on this trend.
T = Timely
My first goal is to get below 190 by October 7.
I would like to be a healthier me. I would like to be a good example for my daughter. I would like to model healthy eating for her so that she never has to fight this battle the way that I have. I would like to teach her to be a healthy active person. I want to be a good role model for her.
I plan to do this through a combination of exercise and cutting back on eats. I have just joined a gym I will go to at least three times a week and I am using weight watchers to control my calorie intake.
Yeah, I did the math wrong...I was rounding to incremements of 250...where it's really a total of 802....duh.

I am doing sparkspeople.com I have a calorie limit of 1200-1550 they have diet info that they send you threw email and on their website and I am following their guideline. I have been doing it since August 1/06 and lost 6lbs. I know what you mean about eating (I think my time of the month is coming soo as I have been hungrier then usual) everyone seems to be doing good keep it up. todays intake ws good just over 1200 calories and did strength and a bit of cardio as well. Walked the extra little bit tonight on my way home even in the rain. have a good rest of the week everyone.
and amazon I know what you are going threw with the loss of your cat we had to put our dog indy down on August 15 and it was hard he got really sick and there was nothing we could do for him my husband and I were devastated as he was part of our family our baby boy.

Angie, I'm so sorry. I have a big dog, Reuben, who is like a child to me. (I'm one of those ppl, it's true) Sometimes letting them go is the kindest thing you can do for them, and the hardest thing for you.
Amazon we new it was best but we sisn't want to let him go it still is hard t times exspecially somedays when i come home from work. but we got him cremated and have his yern (sp?) here at home so its like he is still with us I also have a picture of him on my desk so I see him everyday. We have pictures around the house of him too. if you would like to see pictures I have a page dedicated to him on my website, htp://angie-nicholas.tripod.com seems like we have a small crowd for the challenge but its nice because its easier to keep track of everyone.

Hi everyone!
I did good yesterday...I was going to have yesterday be one of my rest days for exercise, but instead...I hopped on the elliptical (oh, how I love you so!) and ran for just 20 minutes.
That is a good thing for me...I used to be the person that thought, "I have to run for 45 minutes or an hour or why bother?" Well...instead...I got a little bit in and it made a difference.
Food was good...completely on target.
Oh and WELCOME TC!!!

hey everyone, did good today got my workout in between buses to and from work so all up walked about 35- 40 minutes plus worked almost 9 hrs on my feet.i am pooped have a good night everyone
Good Job angie...by Sunday I'll be ready to log my daily doings, ONE MORE DAY OF MOVING TO GO!!! WooT!

Thanks for the welcome. Did good today. I went to the gym and worked out for about 50 minutes. 1/2 hour of toning and 20 minutes of cardio. It feels great to get moving and get everything stretched out and worked out.
Not so great yesterday...I have a few negative flex points for WW. What can I say?
I do have a rehearsal dinner tonight and a wedding tomorrow night. I hoping to dance enough so the food doesn't stick from my Sunday WI!
Hi everybody...I worked at my night job, which is often the sabotage to my eating and fitness goals.
I didn't workout yesterday...which was planned to be my rest day. I worked from 7:30am to 4pm...and then from 5pm to 1am...so finding time for a workout...not bloody likely!
I did eat really well though...I didn't get tempted by the candy...the soda...the cute pizza guys next door. I brought some healthy snacks and made it through the evening.

hey everyone. checking in. did good today, was supposed to do a strength training routine today but wasn't feeling that good this morning preTOM. But I did do extra walking and lifted 25lbs-30lbs boxes at work today so will use that as part of my workout. Eating has been good. Not eating alot not really all that hungry. But am eating ( again not feeling that great). Hope everyone has a good weekend.I know I will I get to sleep in tomorrow yahoo!!!!!! alright have a good one everyone.

Hi everyone.....here is my first check in.
I ate really well yesterday...and got a workout in too...for charity. I did the 5K walk for diabetes...and actually ran/jogged almost half of it. I felt good to be active...and burning those calories...for a good cause.
And we went out to lunch afterwards...and I didn't blow it. I got a salad from Panera with the light dressing. I didn't reward my good exercise with a fattening meal.
Hope everyone else's week is starting well....
