Hey, thanks! I stopped eating sugar and refined flour (and white potatoes and white rice) on April 17. When I did that, my cravings disappeared, which was amazing!
I concentrate on whole grains, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables . . . and Diet Coke with Lime.
I started an exercise streak two months ago . . . I exercise every single day. I alternate between using my exercise bike at home and weight training at the YMCA (where I also run).
Writing my blog has been a key factor in my success. I have support, plus accountability. Blogging did for me what no other diet ever could.
Wow Mel...congrats! That is such an accomplishment. I desperately want to join the YMCA, but have a hard time justifying the money since I have a cardio machine and weights at home.
I agree about blogging...it has made all the difference for me.
You rock!!!
1. Rewarding myself for exercise with prizes.
2. Old fashioned or quick outs keeps me full
Heyyyyy...
This is great..such an inspirtaion Mel is!
Pls let us know how many hours of exercise did u put in??and any other things that you esp did to lose all this weight.
.its a wow feat!!Congrats.
....I'm soo inspired and yes this blog really helps..atleast I have been able to stick to my 1100 calories intake for 2 weeks, and cheated only 2 days...so knowing me thats not bad...so keep writing and keep inspiring..
Wow, congratulations on the weight loss Mel. i just found this site and am very interested. I too can use extra support and information on health related matters. I stopped eating white bread and potatoes and sugar almost a year ago. Wheat breads/Organic & pasta's. 2 cups of fruit a day and 4 c of veggies a day. I've also started walking on my hour long lunches(2nd shift) and on both of my breaks. I clmb the stairs at home 1x daily(basement-14 steps, upstairs first landing to top floor-13 steps), which is up and down 1 full set. I do weights at night when I get home, 20 minutes on 10 lbs with my leg weights and 20 lbs on arms. Try jumping jacks with those. OMG...That'll tone those arms. I do pilates in the mornings for 20 minutes. The weights with the strength seem to be Very SLOWLY working. about 2 lbs a week on average.
