W4 Check In & Weigh In
Welcome to October!
We are just hitting the one month stride. To keep things streamlined so there aren't multiple check in posts (one for burning 250-500 calories per day, one for logging daily pedometer steps and one for tracking progress on the walking program) going forward, the main check in post will focus on, as it encompasses the others, the daily pedometer challenge. Still use the post to brag or kvetch about your day, but now that I created this snazzy graphic…

...use it to check off your daily steps. Each week I'll tally up the walking leaders. Those without pedometers, biking, jogging, can track miles and I'll convert what you did into steps.

is the thread we are to use to check in on the "Burn Baby Burn" challenge?
Yes. BCB is more vague, not everyone logs the calories they burned during working out or how many calories they cut out of their eats. By combining the posts, people (and I say this like there is a ton, it's only about 5-6 people in all) those that are cutting back can continue to chat about how they are doing.
The pedometer challenge has a specific daily goal. Again w/so few people, rather than do a daily post, it's all rolled into one. As the year goes on, if more peeps join in, I'll break the check ins into two posts.

Ok, it's not even post breakfast time and I've logged 777 steps!
W/o even trying I wanted to see what a typical morning routine would net me. The 777 steps were out to the car, from a pretty far, but not the farthest parking space, taking the elevator, a quick trip to the bathroom on the same floor and swinging by the break room to get my yogurt. Not even taking the longest way back to my desk.
Ridiculously easy, I know, but let's celebrate the tiny victories for now ![]()
Have a great day y'all!
I had a better weigh in this week! I actually lost for the first time in three weeks! I lost 3 lbs this week. Woohoo! I am so stoked to finally be heading in the right direction again.
I got my
and I the same as renee had mine in by 9. I work in a resturant and have to get the taco bell line ready and help stock the store before open and am a cashier so move back and forth between handing out food and ringing it in. I also take public transportation and my closest bus stop from home is about 5 mins the one to get to work is about 6 -8 mins. plus I can take the stairs or the elevator. I have to use the fartherest bathroom. And I have had a clean day of eating and oh yah i did my 1 mile of WAPT's today. other then my headache and a sight ear ache I feel pretty good about today. I am making spagehti squash with home made spahgetti sauce for dinner. glade to see everyone else is doing good. Oh yah my weight was up to 143lbs last weigh in and this morning down to 140lbs.
ps total steps for today 8641 (miles 4.08)
Angie
Heh, I always wondered what the intitals TC stood for
Well done on your 3lber girlie!
Good job to you to angie!

If my pedometer hadn't been smothered by a fleece jacket wrapped around my waist, I'd be @ my goal by now, same routine as yesterday AM, but it said 20 steps
The farmer is here today, so when I go out to get my fruit for the week, I'll walk around the cart an extra few laps
I knew good ole Farmer Brown would come thru
by noon today. Nothing gets good steppage like circling a cart of fresh fruit...![]()
Oh, now I remember what I forgot earlier. Had I not worked out, my total steps for yesterday would've been a little under 2000...meaning on a daily basis I've been netting 1500-2000 steps for the last few weeks...*shudder*
I can already see for next weeks 775 step increase, I'll have to swap the elevator for stairs @ least once during the day and possibly park in the last row.
Come on Angie, I'm rooting for ya ![]()
Woah, i am feeling totally MIA. I went to PA with my mom this weekend and ate more than I should have. I did weigh in before I went and I lost .6. Considering my metal block at this point, I'm not unhappy with it, but I'm not jumping up and down about it either....
Regardless, I've got a WW core dinner in the oven, I'm reading blogs for motivation, and I'm putting my right foot forward and I hope it sticks....which could lead to hopping, but I digress.
I'm glad to see that a number of you were successful this past week. It warms my heart and give me some hope!
Cheers!
I hear ya Alanna, going to see my mom in SC, even for a weekend completely wrecks havoc on my routine & flow afterwards. Your mentals sound like they are in a good place, the physicals will follow! ![]()

As for me, I did the same freaking thing as yesterday w/the pedometer, so all my AM steps ='s 40. Man I'm glad I'm hip to these kinks now where I still net 775 steps. I know I'll bust a gasket when the daily step goal increases to say, 3,000 and I "lose" 500 or so due to poor clippage.
I have a trip to the post office that should get my goal in...have a good one ladies!
made the goals for the challenge. today and yesterday. weight was down again 139lbs. so we will see how tuesdays weigh in goes. I am out of town on friday for the weekend until tuesday. thanks giving weekend. eating is better getting back on track now. slowly but steady.keep the good work everyone and thanks for the incouragement renee your the best. I started making weightloss videos on youtube if interested look up angienicholas alright I'll be back to update yahs tomorrow and friday before I leave town. laters
Where can I get a pedometer? I don't have tons of money (poor college stuent) but I'm really interested in doing this challenge!
Welcome Lauren! I got mine, called Sportline, a tiny clear clip-on @ Target for like 8 bucks. I've been wearing it since Sunday, it's pretty accurate and what i like the most is the clip is pretty secure. No threats of falling into the toilet ![]()
Plus, it's so inexpensive, if it falls, like my many other more expensive pedometers have, I won't balk @ replacing it. Hope that helps!

Got my
done yesterday. This has been a real eye opener. Unless I literally work out, 10000 steps a day w/my lifestyle is pretty impossible. Going out to lunch, getting up to make copies, print things out, I *barely* get in 2000 steps
even though it feels like I'm never in my seat.
Sedentary is my middle name
Target, huh? I'm assuming in the ladies workout gear (weights, yoga mats and the like) aisle? I've never had a pedometer, but for $8, I think I can invest.
Things are looking up around here...brought lunch, remembered to eat breakfast. I'm feeling good. Hope all of you are, too.
Ok, I found the model it looks like. It's actually cheaper: $6.25 AND this one has changeable faceplates. I'm jealous!
That's the aisle Alanna, ie: my fave place in the whole store!!
hey renee i have that one but i got it at zellers for 9.95 and changeable covers
. heres my steps fpr today 12098 (5.71miles) I have been wearing my pedometer since 6:20 this morning. I think I am going to take it off now. Eating is getting a little better not 100 percent but working on it. Am sick so haven't really felt much like eating but still eat some. its thanks giving weekend am leaving to go to the folks tomorrow and will be having turkey but am or will not try and go over board with it. have a good weekend I will not be back till monday or tuesday so will check in then
wtg angie!

Got
yesterday, even tho I went str8 home and got in bed, my tummy was KILLING me! This AM I noticed if the pedometer isn't firmly attached, say my pants sag a bit, it doesn't count the steps, so for the miliononth morning this week, my trek from the parking lot said "50 steps" grrrrrrrrrrr!
I'll be on the road later today and back in town Mon evening, even travelling, I *should* hit 775 steps. When I stop for gas, I'll go in and grab a fresh water bottle
Have a good weekend y'all!
It's payday and I'm trying to convince my mom, my Target partner in crime, that we need to meet this afternoon and go to Target. I think I'm going to get a pedometer. Since I hurt my foot, I haven't been able to run (even though I was slacking in that department recently) I'd liketo start a running program again, but on days that I can't get it together to run, or during the work day, I think setting a pedometer goal is the right way to go.
I'm glad to see that so many of you are heading in the right direction. I'm confident that I'll be there soon!
hey I am out of town this weekend to happy turkey day renee and anyone else celebrating its thanks giving here to. I am still having trouble with my eating but am starting over fresh and doin a little detox some what this weekend. I will go gun ho this week for sure. I made a little calender thing to help me along and motivate me I got the idea from another girls journal that I read her name is Jadey. Its a good way to motivate. I am going to be also starting a chart to chart my steps for the challenge to.
I got my pedometer at Target last night. $5.99, better than I hope. I'm an over achiever, apparently, but my mom and i went to the mall so:
Pretty good start, right? I looked at the ped when I got home, but I reset it while doing the dished. I guess I leaned my hip against the counter...bummer.
Considering that my part time job at the library entails mostly sitting on my but, I'm proud to announc that with a little extra effort.....
ding!
This pedometer thing is kinda fun.

OK...so this is the thread we are to use to check in on the "Burn Baby Burn" challenge??
So far...so good. I worked out on Sunday night...and plan on working out today. It's been a rainy few days so I really have to motivate myself to not take long naps and spend my time watching movies underneath a blankie!
